Connecticut Technology Council Honors
Leslie Abi-Karam
of Pitney Bowes
with Woman of Innovation Award

 

STAMFORD, CT, January 31, 2007 - Leslie Abi-Karam, Executive Vice President and President, Document Messaging Technologies, a division of Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI) has received a Women of Innovation Award in the Large Business Innovation and Leadership category by the Connecticut Technology Council.  The third annual Women of Innovation Awards, held on January 25th at The Waterview in Monroe, Connecticut was hosted by the Connecticut Technology Council, Day Pitney LLP, Pfizer and United Technologies.  The prestigious award recognizes the energy, creativity and remarkable capabilities of women working in Connecticut's science and technology community.

“Our 2007 list of winnersrepresents another class of outstanding women leaders in technology, science and engineering,”according to Elizabeth Alquist, chair of the event’s planning committee.  “These women are making a difference in their work place and in academia, but more importantly, they are role models and innovators.”  

The winners include educators, managers, researchers, students, CEO’s, and business leaders from all over Connecticut. 

The Connecticut Technology Council is the State's industry association for the technology sector. The Women of Innovation Awards honors outstanding women leaders in technology, science, and engineering from across the state of Connecticut. The eight awardees for 2007 were selected by the Women of Innovation Planning Committee from a list of fifty finalists.
